We had a night out without the littles (thanks, MIL,) and got to finally try somewhere we would usually avoid with kids. Sweet place, tiny portions, biggish price tag, but much bigger flavor. Everything was wonderful, but it's not a spot you're going to fill up at without cracking your wallet a little wider. We will still be back on special nights like these!

My sister, niece, and, I went to Japantown in San Francisco. We waited for my niece as she finished browsing at the bookstore Kinokuniya. We had dinner reservations at 5:30 pm. The restaurant hostess agreed to move our reservation and we were seated quickly at lunch time.

Sasa provides a very unique restaurant experience you cannot get anywhere else. Food: Quality is impeccable, the flavors are unique, and multi dimensional. Dishes are very thought out in terms of ordering and visual appeal. Favorite pieces from the supplement: The uni/ikura spoon melts in your mouth. It was a burst of flavor that was also not too overpowering. A5 wagyu is very well seasoned and almost has a second phase of flavor when you chew more. A very memorable experience. Service: A perfect place for a date, anniversary, or special occasion. Very professional and polite folks!

I am craving Sasa as we speak. I think that the interior is very warm and simply designed in a way that's elegant and not overdone. We were checked in on and they were incredibly polite, thoughtful, and kind so that felt good to be around and when the sushi came out, my taste buds exploded. Every single dish that we got was incredible and even the simplest rolls were flavorful, fresh and had multiple dimensions of flavor. My friend had recently done a trip to Japan and mentioned the Uni from Hokkaido, which we tried and was wonderful! I absolutely would go back and I am so excited to have found this gem. It has stolen the spot for my favorite sushi spot in the city. I would recommend making reservations as well!

One of my favorite spots in SF! The food and service were amazing and always consistent. Servers are friendly and attentive. We had the Hamachi Truffle, Oysters, Barracuda Nigiri, Creamy Salmon Roll, Spicy Tuna Maki, Kaisen Futomaki, and Toku Dragon Roll. All really tasty with unique flavors and great quality seafood. Ambiance is small, but intimate and service is fast but not rushed! Love this place, never disappoints and would highly recommend.
